Improv Level 2

June 2 – July 7, 2026 | 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm
Price: $120

Theatre Wakefield is offering an Improv Level 2 course beginning Tuesday June 2nd and running six weeks until July 7th! The classes will be 6:30pm-8:30pm and will have a cap of twelve students. The price for the six week course is $120. Completion of Improv Level 1 is required to participate. This course will be taught by Caleb Allacas.

Level 2 will continue to stretch and hone the skills we have been building in Level 1, expanding on tools, techniques, and practice with a combination of short form games and scene work. It will include deeper development with focuses like relationship, status, intention, and discovering the “game” in a given scene. There will be an OPTIONAL performance at the end of Level 2 for close friends and family. Come jump back into the learning, letting go, and laughter!

Biography
Caleb Allacas studied theatre at the University of Ottawa and acting at Vancouver Film School. He works in video game narrative design, building worlds and directing vocal talent to bring them to life. In 2023, Caleb and his family moved to Wakefield from Montreal, where he played with Mile End Improv.

Improv Level 3

June 4 – July 9, 2026 | 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm
Price: $120

Theatre Wakefield is offering an Improv Level 3 course beginning Thursday June 4th and running six weeks until July 9th! This will culminate with a public performance night after the six classes – date and venue for the performance TBD. The classes will be 6:30pm-8:30pm and will have a cap of twelve students. The price for the six week course is $120. Completion of Improv Level 2 is required to participate. This course will be taught by Caleb Allacas.

Level 3 will continue to stretch and hone the skills we have been building in Level 1 and Level 2, expanding on tools, techniques, and practice with a combination of short form games and scene work. It will include deeper development with focuses like justification, using limitations, editing and time-jumps, and further methods for sharing space. After the Level 3 curriculum, improvisors will get the opportunity to participate in a community show!

“LOCAL HEROES” FILMMAKING CAMP

July 13-17, 2026
9:00 a.m. to 4 p.m. (with options for pre- or after-care)
Age:  12-17

“LIGHTS. CAMERA. ACTION!” This summer, this could be you! Want to dip your toes into the world of filmmaking? Join Theatre Wakefield for a week-long summer camp with local filmmaker Savanna Oliver.

Teens will learn to write, direct, shoot and edit their own films. This course will focus on creating short docs about their local heroes. Students will learn the skills to take their idea to the big screen.

“ENCHANTED FORESTS” THEATRE CAMP

August 10-14, 2026
9:00 a.m. to 4 p.m. (with options for pre- or after-care)
Age:  8-13

Let your child’s creativity take root in a week-long theatre adventure set deep within an Enchanted Forest. Campers become storytellers, actors, and world‑builders as they dream up magical creatures, mysterious landscapes, and the legends that bring their forest to life. Through acting games, movement, collaborative writing, and hands‑on design, they work together to create an original play inspired by their own imaginations.
