Théâtre Wakefield and Aylmer Community Theatre Company are teaming up!

Théâtre Wakefield and Aylmer Community Theatre Company will be presenting an evening of two one-act plays this spring!

 

Aylmer Community Theatre Company will present the black comedy thriller “The Dumb Waiter” by Harold Pinter directed by Jennifer Piercey and Théâtre Wakefield will present the comedy “Your Play or Mine?” by Barry Lambert directed by Claude Laroche.

 

The Dumb Waiter is a two-character play set in the basement of an old rooming house, connected to the rooms above by a dumbwaiter and an intercom. Ben and Gus make small talk and wait. It becomes obvious that they are hired killers who are waiting for their victim, whose identity they have not yet been told.

Synopsis of “Your Play or Mine?“
Impresario Larry Delpiero, a man of highly dubious reputation, accuses self-important playwright Edmund Parnell-Blake of plagiarism, threatening not only the writer’s reputation but also his bank balance and general well-being. Karen Maxwell, Edmund’s feisty PA, and Mrs Pond, his surprisingly gifted housekeeper, forget their own differences with their employer and rally round in an attempt to save his career. The arrival of fan and aspiring playwright Oliver Capron does nothing to ease Edmund’s tension.
